THE POINT DEPOT TRAM TERMINUS

This area has been renamed a number of times. Originally it was the Point Depot but it is now the Point Village but some refer to it as the Point Square.

There were plans to build a 120-metre skyscraper (called the "Point Village Watchtower"), which would have included apartments, office space, a miniature TV and radio studio, and rooftop bar and restaurant with panoramic views over Dublin Bay. The developer invested about €15 million in underground works but the project was abandoned.

However there is now a new building under construction and it is named the EXO Building. Once completed in March 2020 the €80 million building will become Dublin’s tallest office block.

Planning permission for the office building was obtained in March 2016 under fast-track planning rules.
