CRAMPTON COURT – NOT LOVE LANE

CRAMPTON COURT PHOTOGRAPHED USING AN iPHONE XR

THE STREETS AND LANES OF DUBLIN

I have overheard a number of tourist guides incorrectly refer to this as Love Lane.

I usually visit my mother for lunch every Sunday [she will be 100 in May] but today she had an important visitor and I had to make alternative arrangements so I visited the Kathmandu Kitchen Nepalese & Indian Restaurant on Dame Street and I was really impressed. Anyway on my way home I dedided to take a shortcut through Crampton Court.

There is an ongoing programme named “Love The Lanes” and to the best of my knowledge when street artist Anna Doran [responsible for the art in the original Hungry Mexican] installed a number of artistic tiles at this location she named the installation “Love Lane”. In case you are wondering, Love Lane is a laneway that connects Lower Grand Canal Street to Lower Mount Street. Crampton Court, shown in my photograph, connects Dame Street to East Essex Street in Temple Bar and it runs parallel to Crane Lane [more or less].

In case you are wondering the Hungry Mexican has relocated 5 Aston Quay and it is well worth a visit. And in case you are wondering why I did not have lunch at the Hungry Mexican … I was there yesterday.
